Reading this touches my heart and makes me remember why I am so thankful to know,live and breath what Jesus has for me. Even in our life's darkest moments Jesus shines his light for all who belongs to him to see. For those who do not know him, to see his loving mercy. Awesome!

Thanks for the comment Derri. I hope this helps stir up interest... I noticed that you guys have a strong presence in Houston (2 regional directors!)... If you guys ever need an East Texas Regional Director, I'd seriously consider it... Texas, the 2nd largest state in the union, is equal in size to any number of states... It might help the cause to have a local lead the charge in this area... We have a strong presence and interest in East Texas... Fred Smith of The Gathering asked me to lead up a Jan 11 viewing of Call+Response in Tyler... The theatre sold out many nights and received a ton of press.

Yes!! I've done a lot in my 56 years, but never have I so sensed God's eagerness to equip and mobilize His people , as in workto cripple this travesty. If we are just willing and show up, He opens doors and does all the heavy lifting.

Just wanted to add a note to make it easy for readers to take the next step: Look at www.notforsalecampaign.org Under "About", click on "Regional Directors." Find the one in your state and write to them for practical, grassroots, effective ways to join the movement to end slavery, in a way that suits your skills, passions and sphere of influence. Each director is a volunteer, eager to support others.

Thanks BD! It was very therapeutic to write it. It has been a long time since I was "in" but the memories are so vivid. It was my family, my life. Plus it has taken years to undo much of the brainwashing. Seriously. Thanks for the encouragement.

spoken from the heart...its sad what we "Christians" have done to Christianity... You and I have "tweeted" about this before, I don't want to be called a Christian just because I attend church. I read the book "UnChristian" and this is a lot of what is talked about. We can defend ourselves all we want but the truth is, those outside looking in see us exactly the way your friend described - we are hypocritical, scandalous, judgmental, and so far away from being Christ like that I don't know how to make it real for people. So many have been hurt "in Jesus' name" that it is scary.

Do I think we should all be down at the local bar? no, but that doesn't mean someone shouldn't be. Does it mean we all stop attending a local gathering in Sunday? Absolutely not, we need each other. My question is what DO we do? How do we gain the right to be called Christian's again? and, what SHOULD Sunday really look like? Your friend is on to something and I believe we all need to really ask the same questions...

One of the biggest struggles I see working within a counseling ministry is that we shoot the wounded that show up in our churches looking for the love of Jesus...and we do not do battle well with our enemy. Our struggle is not against flesh & blood, but against teh rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places...
